The four-laning of Highway 69 is part of a strategic network improvement plan connecting southern and northern Ontario (via both the Highway 69 and Highway 11 corridors), as outlined in the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines Highway 69 Corridor Action Plan. The recommended alignment for this section of Highway 69 was previously determined during the Route Planning Study completed in December 2006. This report is on file at the Northeastern Regional Office of the Ministry of Transportation.
